We are Patchwork. We have stitched together a collection of web, marketing and advertising services necessary to launch an online presence, to drive awareness and sales for a startup or small business requiring digital marketing in Nelson and Marlborough.
Previously, in the large city ad agencies we worked at, a package of these services would cost tens of thousands. But tools, experience and a desire to meet the market has driven down the cost of establishing a brand presence online.
With the influx of new startup businesses being opened in Marlborough and Nelson over the recent lockdown period, we can see a need for an effective ‘get-me-online-cheaply’ fast turnaround, simple execution package of our services.

We will apply Google’s Search Console & Analytics and set up Google Ads for your site. We’ll show you how to read these reports to see who’s visiting your site.
We will set up advertising on Facebook and Instagram to drive traffic to your website. We can trial campaign using Google Ads with a free credit of NZ$100.
We can customise and launch a Shopify platform or a simple-to-use website theme. We will lift your Google search position to drive more Search traffic to your online store.
We will show you how to maximise your advertising to target your audience online. We will produce an email newsletter to automatically send out to your new subscribers.

The Patchwork team has worked for global advertising agencies and national digital marketing companies. We’ve been agency clients as Marketing Managers and Advertising Managers. We’ve launched numerous successful brands, headed up the digital departments in some of New Zealand’s largest companies. And we have returned to Blenheim from offshore to bring up family and pursue our own business activities.
We decided to continue to provide marketing consultancy and online production services to local companies, but at a much more boutique level, offering digital marketing services for South Island corporates, startups and fast-growth online businesses.
We’re not looking to build a big digital marketing business. Rather we want to offer our decades of practical marketing and deep digital advertising knowledge to selected local businesses. To give something back to Nelson and Marlborough companies, without seeking a high profile, or joining the local speaking circuit.
We have a collective 30+ years of digital marketing experience, plus time in technology and production. In this time, we have built over 100 brand, product/campaign or e-commerce websites, managed large digital production teams, overseen multi-million dollar international marketing budgets, and worked with tiny startups who have gone on to be market leaders in their region and nationally. We reached the top of the New Zealand digital advertising industry, sat on industry Boards and held senior executive positions.

We’re guessing you get increasing numbers of social media influencers seeking pro bono products or services from your company. This practice is now well-entrenched and not going away any time soon! We recommend creating a simple content page on your website to direct enquires to, as well as implementing a system to manage requests. We’ve provided some complimentary copy that you can use.
